The Snare Of Second Thought

TOPIC: THE SNARE OF SECOND THOUGHT

READ MATTHEW 14:25-31

MEMORISE: We live by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Message
And Peter said unto Jesus, “Lord, if it’s You, … tell me to come to You on the water.” What a great day when an ordinary mortal walked on water without the use of canoe, boat, ferry, or ship! Today, many people would have done great and even greater things through, and for God, if they had not entertained the second thought over their first step of faith-walk with God, which usually is always the right on. Our doubts are traitors. They make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt. Elijah, in 2 Kings 2:10 (MLB) said to Elisha that: … You have made a difficult request, but if you see me taken from you, it shall be granted to you; if not, it will not be so.
To a man or woman of faith, things might look seemingly difficult, but nothing shall be impossible (Mark 9:23). As soon as Peter became conscious of the boisterous wind around him, he lost the grip of faith in the God of all possibilities who had asked him to walk up to Him.
It is time you let go of all second thoughts (doubts about your prospects) or voice of human reasoning (philosophy or psychology), struggling, and choking your faith-walk with God towards success. The doubting ‘Thomases’ hardly get anything good from God (James 1:6-8).

PRAYER POINTS:
1. I declare today, O Lord, that Your sufficient grace shall grant me an uncommon success.
2. I command the disgraceful attitude of doubt to leave me now, in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord, deliver our church members from faithfulness that leads many into consulting other gods after leaving the church, in Jesus’ name.
