TOPIC: SEE THE BIG PICTURE (III)
Read: Genesis 37:1-6
MEMORISE: So he said to them, "Please hear this dream which I have dreamed." (Genesis 37:6)
EXPOSITION
Vision produces the force that moves things on. It is the propellant that pushes one to work and keep working until one is where one is meant to be. Most importantly, don't allow anything to tamper with your God-given vision. The vision of Joseph remained indelible in his faculty, even in the face of uncertainty, enslavement, imprisonment and bad weathers. Stay glued to your God-given picture of the future. Though it tarries, wait for it. It'll happen.
When the enemies captured Samson, the first thing they did was to pluck out his two eyes. They rendered him visionless (sightless). Being visionless is deadness. A man of that calibre (a valiant warrior, for that matter) was conscripted at the mill of his enemies because his vision had been tampered with? What a disaster! The same happens to he who loses his vision.
What do you think accounts for all the blurred visions? Why is it that only few people go about with clear vision? And why are people visionless? Any, or all of the following could cause blurred vision, or render someone visionless:
1. Fear: Fear will never allow a man to take the right actions, and failure to take actions kills dreams;
2. Complacency: Many people are too comfortable with the status quo. They see no need for change. They believe it can't be done differently;
3. Indifference: He who exhibits indifference lacks the necessary enthusiasm, passion and zeal to succeed at anything;
4. Lack of sensitivity: It is a bad habit if nothing makes meaning to you;
5. Lack of zeal: It was recorded about Jesus that the zeal of God's house consumed Him. Should it be said any less of you in relation to success-related things in your life?
PRAYER POINTS
1. I refuse to give up on those wonderful things God has shown to me about my glorious future; I receive God's help to pursue them to the end.
2. I receive the grace to keep running with the vision I have received from You, O Lord.
3. Even when the vision of Your coming seems too delayed, Lord, help believers not to give up based on the activities of the scoffers.
