Every athlete disciplines him/herself in conformity to the rules and regulations guiding the game. It is mandatory for the athlete to master the rules and regulations guiding, coupled with the skills of, the game. Any athlete, no matter how good he/she is, who goes against the rules of the game, no matter how impressive he or she is, is bound to be disqualified outright.
A female weightlifting athlete, who has severally represented her country at both local and international championships and has won several medals for the country, was stripped of her latest gold medal by the wrestling body because she was discovered to have won the medal unlawfully. The verdict came months after 'fake' victorious celebration.
The Christian race has its rules and regulations, with the accompanying grace. Many Christians ate fighting unlawfully, fighting bad fights today in their self-styled ministries, churches and denominations. What a waste of resources to be doing what God has not sent you to do! Whatever accolade and wealth such people acquire from such futile ventures will not last. Their sin of doing God's work with self-styled weapons will find them out and they will be stripped of all their titles, positions and wealth. Strive lawfully and you will always receive the support of your Master.
PRAYER POINTS:
Lord, guide me against fighting bad fights and running lost races.
Lord, help me to become wise and informed thoroughly by Your WORD so that I do not fight life's battles with ignorance.
Lord, You came, fought and conquered. Help me to inherit these from You.
