Service To God

Read Luke 17:7-10 Memorize: Would he not rather say, 'Prepare your supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'? (Luke 17:8).. The Good News Bible says, ...Put on your apron and wait on me... Apron is a piece of cloth that cooks put on to avoid stains during cooking or serving. We have to get ourselves ready as we fulfill our mandates. Our Lord and Saviour put on the garments of a servant. With what do you grid yourself? With belt of TRUTH buckled around your waist (Eph. 6:14-17). Truth, here, is like a belt around your heart, meaning the Word of God must dwell in you richly to conquer the devil's strategies (John 17:17). Now that you have been girded with truth (the Word of God), then you wait on Him (serve Him). Serving Him requires the whole of your heart (Jos. 22:5). It costs sincerity and gladness of heart to be accepted. Jesus says, Whoever serves me must follow me (John 12:26). So, genuinely fear, follow, and obey Him. Above all, no matter the challenges, and then the level of success,as you render your service to God, give God all the glory for the great privilege to serve Him. Serve Him from today as divinely designated. God's blessing is upon you always. Do you celebrate domestic servants? Yet, Jesus Christ has ways of granting that those who serve humbly, faithfully and sincerely be celebrated. Prayer Points: 1. Lord, help me to serve You always with the humblest mind. 2. Pray that God should dislodge the worldly, materialistic and heretical tendencies bedevilling the Christian fold. 3. Pray that the Lord will give to members of His family the grace of humility in service.
