One Thing Is Needful

Read Luke 10:38-42 Memorize: But only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her (Luke 10:42). Many necessities have overridden the hearts of many Christains so much that they don't see what is needful. The one thing needful, which Mary chose is waiting on God. Waiting on the Lord is key to Christian growth (Psa. 27:14). Waiting on the Lord however requires some ingredients to be effective. The days of passionate worshippers and committed workers are going. Mary believed in Jesus, hence sat to hear Him teaching, ignoring all distracting necessities around her. It is indispensable that one has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in His power. Your Faith is Key! Sitting at the feet of Jesus, also, signifies the genuine love Mary had for her Lord. She would not have sat patiently and happily at Jesus' feet, if she had not loved Him. Your love for Him will enable you to wait! It also shows that readiness should be in one to regularly learn at His feet in personal and corporate fellowships. Remember that so many things are necessary in this world, but not all is needful. The infinitely needful is sitting at Jesus' feet that one may know Him and the power of His resurrection. Cherish it. Remember Martha was not committing sin in this passage, only that she has misplaced her priority. Watch out. Prayer Points: 1. Lord, help me to cherish what is paramount on Your mind. 2. Ask God to bring ministers who are already missing their tracks back to their first love and calling. 3. Lord, help your children to discover what matters most to You and be empowered to concentrate on that. Extra Reading For Today: Galatians 1-3
