Flee All Appearances Of Evil

THEME:  FLEE ALL APPEARANCES OF EVIL.  MEMORISE: Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Romans 12:9 READ: I Corinthians 6:12-20 12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he th

Questions About Salvation (3)

What is the Romans Road to salvation? (1) The Romans Road to salvation is a way of explaining the good news of salvation using verses from the Book of Romans. It is a simple yet powerful method of explaining why we need salvation, how God provided salvation, how we can receive salvation, and what are the results of salvation. The first verse on the Romans Road to salvation is Romans 3:23, 'For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.' We have all sinned. We have all done things that are displeasing to God. There is no one who is innocent. Romans 3:10-18 gives a detailed picture of what sin looks like in our lives. The second Scripture on the Romans Road to salvation, Romans 6:23, teaches us about the consequences of sin - 'For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.' The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death! The third verse on the Romans R

The Grace Of God (III)

TOPIC: THE GRACE OF GOD (III)  Read: Ephesians 1:5-8  MEMORISE: _Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need_ (Hebrews 4:16).  EXPOSITION In continuation of our study on the grace of God, we need to take a critical look at the roles grace and mercy play in our salvation. God’s grace and mercy are closely related. The two of them have their different parts in our salvation. Although, they are similar expressions of His favour and love, yet they possess a clear distinction. God shows both mercy and grace, but they are not the same. We need the two of them as far as our salvation is concerned. Mercy is God’s choice not to punish us as sins deserve, and grace is God’s choice of blessing us despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mercy is deliverance from judgement. Grace is extending kindness to the unworthy. When we experience God’s mercy, we are spared punishment that we deserve (Tit 3:5). When we exp

Principle Of Divine Multiplication.

THEME: PRINCIPLE OF DIVINE MULTIPLICATION. MEMORISE: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6 READ: Genesis 26:12-14 12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: 14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. MESSAGE: From the beginning of creation, multiplication has been central to the purpose and agenda of God for humanity. The Lord in His infinite wisdom specifically chose His words when He proclaimed His first blessing upon mankind in Genesis 1:28, saying: “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the

The Grace Of God (II)

TOPIC: THE GRACE OF GOD (II) Read: Galatians 5:1-6 MEMORISE: For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ (John 1:17). EXPOSITION To have deeper understanding of what grace of God is, we need to know the correlation and the difference between grace and the law. The law stands for the Old Testament and it was given by Moses. Grace stands for the New Testament as it was given by Christ. As earlier said, grace is God’s unmerited and undeserving favour which He bestows on all those who repent and trust in Christ. Grace has been used as an acronym: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. If grace were merited, then it wouldn’t be grace anymore, but salvation by works; but no one is saved by works (Rom. 11:6). No one will be saved through the works of the law (Eph. 2:8-9; Gal. 2:16). That is good news for us because, no one can possibly keep the Law perfectly with his/her own strength. We all need grace – God’s grace. We do not keep the law in order to

Cry Now!

TOPIC: CRY NOW! MEMORISE: I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. Psalm 3:4 READ: Mark 10: 46-52 46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. 49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. 50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. 52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath m
